To Know Pengerang



Pengerang is a sub-district in Kota Tinggi, Johor, Malaysia was known as a small custom cum immigration post, Pengerang has many natural resources, sea life and unique landforms. It is well known as a destination for seafood and has a beautiful seacoast. There are many religious landmarks such as mosques and temples. At the end of the road on the eastern shore is KD Sultan Ismail. It is a naval base that serves as a recruit training center (PULAREK) which opened in year 2000. With an area of 200 acres, this training center is equipped with various facilities for training Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) recruits. It was built under the historical era of the Second World War (World War II).

Pengerang Integrated Petroleum Complex (PIPC) is part of Entry Point Project (EPP) identified in the National Key Economic Area (NKEA) Oil, Gas and Energy (OGE) under Economic Transformation Programme (ETP), with the aim to realize Malaysia’s vision to create a regional oil storage and petrochemical hub.
The oil and gas industry is among Malaysia’s most important sector to drive socioeconomic growth. With strong future growth in the demand of energy and petrochemical products in Asia, PIPC will help to push Malaysia into a new frontier of technology and economic development.
